Government would fulfil electioneering campaign promises

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Dec 12, GNA – The new executives of the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have assured Ghanaians that the government would fulfil all the campaign promises.

They have therefore urged Ghanaians to exercise restraint and wait patiently for the government to end its four years mandate. Mr Kofi Ofori, Constituency Chairman said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after an executives meeting at Breman Asikuma on Friday.

Members of the past executives also attended. The meeting afforded the two groups of executives the opportunity to iron out the differences that occurred during the constituency election held recently.

Members of the new executive expressed the hope that by the end of the four years, the NDC government would have put in place sound economic policies to improve the living condition of Ghanaians. This, the Chairman said, would make the people give the party another term to rule Ghanaians.

He urged party members to work hard to help President J.E.A. Mills achieve the “better Ghana” he promised the people. Mr Ofori called for proper coordination among district, municipal, metropolitan and Members of Parliament of the party, to ensure cohesion and togetherness among all ranks and files.

The Chairman urged stakeholders in the constituency to help build better sub-structures with an ultimate aim of wining the parliamentary seats from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 elections. He said the executives would organise youth camping, women conference, get together and fun games, to rekindle the spirits of the party members, towards the victory of the party in the next elections. At the meeting, some members of the Party wishing to contest for positions in the Central Regional Secretariat of the NDC, took the opportunity to solicit for votes in the upcoming regional elections. 12 Dec. 09
