Choirs advised to use songs to change lives

Kukurantumi (E/R), Aug. 10, GNA – The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Offosu-Ampofo has called on Church Choirs to institute prison visitations programmes to enable them to use their songs to change the prisoners.

He observed that, music has the capacity to shake all foundations and open new opportunities in life for individuals, groups and nations and could even heal the sick.

Mr Offosu-Ampofo was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 36th Biennial Conference of the West Volta Presbytery Church Choirs Union of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Kukurantumi on Sunday. The four day conference was attended by over 2000 Choristers of the Church from Eastern, Greater Accra, Central and Western Regions and was organized under the theme “Newness in Christ, the Chorister as a vessel for change”.

He advised the choristers to lead exemplary lives that would reflect the words in their songs Rev. L. K. Kwasikpu, Co-ordinator of the Union, urged the members of the union to see the period of the conference as a time for reflection, spiritual renewal, focus and commitment to their role as agents of change.

He advised the members of the union to let their singing and activities both in and outside the church be for Christ
