Woman mugged in broad day light at Ho

Ho, June 11, GNA – Two young men in broad daylight, on Wednesday, robbed Ms. Faustine Deh, a cleaner at the Ho office of the Ghana News Agency, of her hand bag containing GH¢65.00 and other valuables, around the Ho Sports Stadium.

Residents near the crime area, which is also close to the International Central Gospel Church, said the incident is the third mugging in the past two months. Ms. Deh said around 0800 hours, while returning home after her cleaning job, one of the young men, dressed in a ‘batakari’ top, accosted her and demanded that she greeted them. After that she violently pushed her to the ground, wrenched her hand bag and escaped.

She said a motorbike rider, who was riding past and other people, who were alerted by her wailing, tried in vain to trail and arrest the robbers. Ms Deh said the bag also contained a Health Insurance Card, a mobile phone and a wrist watch. 11 June 09
