Akan MP commends government

Kadjebi, May 11, GNA – Mr Joseph Kwadjo Ofori, Member of Parliament for Akan Constituency, has said successes achieved during the first 100 days of the National Democratic Congress-led government attested to a promising future.

He said the passage of some important bills in Parliament including the approval of 75 Ministers and their deputies in record time gave positive signals of a government that is seeking to improve the lives of the people.

“The passage of the formula for the disbursement of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for the various assemblies and schools with dispatch demonstrates a government poised to succeed”, he said in an interview with the GNA.

Mr Ofori reminded Ghanaians that the mandate of the government was four years and it could best be judged after that period and not by 100 days.

“With co-operation from all, the government’s development agenda would be implemented to the letter.” On his achievements in his constituency within 100 days, he said he had donated two computers with accessories to Kadjebi Police Command and the Kadjebi Magistrate court.

Some 1,200 cutlasses were distributed to farmers and 10 sets of jerseys and footballs donated to some schools in the district. Mr Ofori said the rehabilitation of the Kadjebi Sports Stadium and the establishment of a second division football team are high on his development agenda and pledged to liaise with the appropriate and relevant institutions for a take-off.

He said he would link up with the district authorities on how to strategize to derive the utmost revenue from its traditional sources. 11 May 09
