Offinso (Ash), May 7, GNA – Offinso citizens resident in Virginia in the United States of America (USA) and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have congratulated Mr Victor Amponsah on his appointment as the Offinso Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). In a statement jointly signed by Mr Jimmy Owusu Kwarteng and Mr Kwasi Barfi, former Offinso Constituency Organiser and Chairman respectively, the supporters pledged their unflinching support for the MCE and wished him well.
The statement cautioned him to be wary of being surrounded by sycophants and hypocrites who may be parading his office and residency for favours.
It advised the MCE to be mindful and be guided by events which led to the poor performance of the party in the 2008 general elections. The statement advised Mr Amponsah to work closely with local chiefs, party faithful, Members of Parliament (MPs), identified organisations and other well meaning opinion leaders for effective development of the municipality. It gave the assurance that the US-based supporters would continue to mobilise resources to complement the government’s efforts to improve the living standards of the people.
