Select dedicated people as party agents-NPP

Mankessim (C/R), Dec 18, GNA – Mr Felix Nyarko-Antwi, First Vice Chairman of the Mfantseman West constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged their polling stations agents to be vigilant during the presidential run-off elections. Mr Nyarko-Antwi said the loyalty of some of the agents during the December seven elections “were in doubt as there was suspicion of connivance with some opponents of the party to allow things to go the wrong way”.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Mankessim on

Wednesday, My Nyarko-Antwi pointed out that since elections were

either won or lost at polling stations, it was necessary that party

agents become more vigilant and monitor the process well. He denied the rumour circulating in the area that Mr Stephen

Asamoah Boateng, Member of Parliament for the area had ordered

the removal of electricity poles he had supplied to some

communities for their electrification projects. According to Mr Nyarko-Antwi, the MP had ordered that

projects he had initiated from his personal resources should continue

even though he lost the parliamentary elections. Mr Asamoah Boateng lost to Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah of the NDC but had filed a writ for a recount. Mr Nyarko-Antwi said it was not true that Mr Asamoah Boateng,

who is also the Minister of Information and National Orientation

collapsed and was rushed to Cape Coast Regional Hospital

immediately the results were announced. Mr Makita Quainoo, an NPP activist appealed to supporters of

the party to report any activities of the NDC or any electoral staff

which they found incompatible with the electoral laws to party

officials for immediate redress.
