MP donates items to 10 communities

Twifo Heman (C/R), Aug 11, GNA – Reverend Ben Donkor, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Heman -Lower-Denkyira Constituency on Friday donated a number of items worth GH¢17,900 to 10 communities in his constituency at separate functions.

The items comprising 60 street lights bulbs, four TV sets, two generators and a public address system, purchased from the MPs share of the Common Fund.

The beneficiary communities included Jukwa, Heman, Frame, Breman and Mbem.

The rest were Abrafo, Ankaako, Gyankobu, Wawase and Ampekro. Making the presentation, Rev. Donkor said the generators, TV sets and the bulbs were specifically being provided to the Jukwa and Heman Health Centers to enable them carry out their work even during power outages, and to enhance security in the communities.

He appealed to those who had not yet registered with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to do so, for better health care. He also advised people above 18 years in the constituency who had not yet registered to vote, to take advantage of the on-going registration exercise to enable them exercise their franchise during the December 7, 2008 general elections.

Mr Wilberforce Adade, Twifo-Heman -Lower Denkyira District Director of Health, who received the items on behalf of the Centers, thanked Rev. Donkor for the gesture and expressed the hope that the provision of the generators, would help to ensure better health care delivery.
