Cape Coast, April 10, GNA – A 21-year-old sprayer from Ewim, a suburb of Cape Coast was on Thursday remanded by a circuit court at Cape Coast for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from one Mr Benjamin Mensah, a deaf and dumb person. Adu pleaded not guilty to stealing and would be re-arraigned on Friday, April 25. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the Court presided over by Mr Richard Asiedu-Badu that, on April 5, at about 0100 hours, Adu went to bigtyme drinking spot at Ewim where he met Mr Mensah and asked of the time. He said, Mr Mensah had no wrist watch so he pulled out his phone, to check the time on it, but Adu snatched it within a twinkle of an eye, and passed it on to Kweku Essien, his accomplice, and they took to their heels. The prosecution said Adu was arrested after they were given a hot chase and sent to the Cape Coast police station while Essien who managed to escape is still at large.
