84,000 children to be de-wormed in SAEMA

Takoradi, Feb. 11, GNA – A national weeklong de-worming exercise would begin on Monday February 12 and it is expected to cover children in public schools from kindergarten to the junior secondary school. The United Nations International Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF) is providing Mebendazole tablets and syrups for the exercise.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency in Takoradi on Friday, Mr. George Kluboito, Shama Ahanta east Metropolitan (SAEMA), coordinator of the School Health Education Programme, said about 84,000 children from 349 public schools within SAEMA are expected to be de-wormed. 11 Feb 07
