5 robbers busted in Sefwi-Wiawso

The Sefwi-Wiawso District Police Command has arrested five suspected armed robbers for their involvement in various crimes on the Sefwi Akontombra and Sefwi Besibema motorway.

The suspects are Akwasi Adjei, 32, a carpenter, Isaac Bofah, 33, driver from Mim in the Brong Ahafo Region, Kofi Kadmore alias Kofi Swam, 18, Musa Seidu, 23, a Fulani and Kwesi Amoah alias Kootah, 28, an ex-convict.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Raymond Erzuah told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday that the five suspects have been remanded and are to re-appear before a magistrate court on February 22.

He said on January 7 the suspects attacked four vehicles, wielding cutlasses and locally manufactured guns and robbed occupants of monies and other valuables.

They went into hiding but were arrested later.
