Ho, May 23, GNA- Victor Batabo alias Busubusu, 42, from Adaklu-Helekpe near Ho, has been remanded in police custody by a Ho Circuit Court, for allegedly defiling a 15 year old Junior Secondary School student on a refuse dump.
He pleaded not guilty and would reappear on June 16. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Appiah Kubi told the Court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siameh, that on May 13, this year, Batabo who was attending to nature’s call on the refuse dump at the outskirt of the village met the victim in the vicinity and dragged her into a near-by bush and forcibly had sex with her.
Chief Inspector Kubi said the victim who could not bear the pain screamed, attracting the attention of a woman who was going to her farm. He said when Batabo noticed that the woman had spotted him in the act, he promised to offer her 100,000 cedis to keep mute over the incident.
Chief Inspector Kubi said the woman rejected the offer and reported the case to the victim’s grandmother leading to the arrest of the accused.
