39 Arrested In Tema Cyber Fraud Raid

A joint operation by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has led to the arrest of 39 people in a cybercrime raid at Adom City Estate, Tema Community 25, in the Greater Accra Region.

The arrests were made in the early hours of Thursday, August 21, 2025, after weeks of intelligence-led surveillance on a suspected cyber fraud hub believed to be operating in the residential area.

Officials said the swoop was part of ongoing efforts to tackle online fraud networks across the country.

Among those arrested were three individuals believed to be minors.

Security officers seized laptops, digital devices and other materials, which are to undergo forensic analysis to support investigations.

The Cyber Security Authority said all 39 suspects are currently in police custody and will be processed for court.

The operation, which involved heavy security presence, was aimed at disrupting organised online fraud groups targeting individuals and institutions.

The Authority noted that the action forms part of a national strategy to combat internet fraud, financial scams and other cyber-enabled crimes that continue to affect Ghanaians.

The CSA has called on the public to remain alert and to report suspected fraudulent activities by calling or texting 292, or through WhatsApp on 0501603111.
