18-year-old remanded over computer theft

The Juaso Circuit Court presided over by Mr Alex Obeng Asante, has ordered an 18 year-old unemployed to be held without bail over the theft of a computer.

Kofi Malik would return to the court on October 31, to be told of his punishment after pleading guilty to charges of unlawful entry and stealing.

Police Chief Inspector Joseph Obeng told the court that the complainant teaches at the Patriensa D/A Junior High School while the accused lives at Obenimase.

The teacher reported to school on September 30, at about 0615 hours, and discovered that the school’s computer laboratory had been broken into and one Dell desktop computer and its accessories missing.

He received information that Malik had sent the stolen computer to a technician at Obenimase to fix it.

A report was made to the police, and he confessed to the crime in his caution statement after his arrest.
