15 women win District Assembly seats in Ho Municipality

Ho, Oct. 5 GNA – Fifteen out of the 23 women who contested for seats in the Ho Municipality in the September 12 District Assembly Elections won.

Miss Laurencia Kpatakpa, Volta Regional Director of the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the 65 percent success of women in the region was encouraging. Out 15 elected women, 10 are teachers while others are project officers, administrators and marketing officers.

Miss Kpatakpa said intermittent rains in certain parts of the region and bad roads were delaying the final result sheet of the elections.

There were no elections in nine electoral areas because candidates there were unopposed. 06 Oct 06
