13 people arrested for stealing 150 million cedis fish

Tema, March 30, GNA- The fishing harbour police are investigating the circumstances that led to the stealing of 1,148 cartons of imported fish that were stored in a cold store in Teshie, Accra. The police said 13 people whose names are being withheld have been arrested for investigations. A truck used in carting the fish has been arrested and the driver of the Benz container is helping the police in investigations. The police said the deal was detected last Saturday night when the storekeeper of “Holifax Fishing Company” cold store at Teshie in Accra, discovered the theft. Superintendent Victor Adetor, District Commander of Tema Railways and Harbour police confirmed the story and the arrest of 13 people but said they have all been granted police enquiry bail pending investigations.
