Zoomlion worker convicted for defilement

A 45 year-old worker of Zoomlion Company Limited, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in hard by the Tarkwa Circuit Court for defiling a 13- year-old class four school girl.

The convict, Solomon Quaicoo, pleaded guilty.

The Prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court that the complainant lives with the victim, who is his step daughter at Bonsaso Number 2, a village near Tarkwa, whilst the convict lives at Bonsa number 1.

Inspector Amponsah said, on December 12, the complainant detected that the victim could not walk properly and when she found out the cause of the change, she mentioned the convict as the one who abused her sexually in his room.

The matter was reported to the police who issued the victim with medical form to attend hospital for examination.

Inspector Amponsah added that the convict was arrested and charged with the offence.
