Zoomlion donates to Wa Central Prisons

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste Management Company, has donated some detergents valued at GH? 4,000.00 to the Management of the Wa Central Prisons to help keep the place clean.

The Company additionally moblised some of its workers to clean up the premise, fumigate it against mosquitoes and empty the full septic tank, which had been a major challenge for the facility.

Mr. Edmund Vidjah, the Acting Upper West Regional Manager of Zoomlion, said the gesture was part of activities marking the 10th Anniversary of the Company.

He said it was part of the company’s policy to support some public institutions that had challenges with sanitation to promote a healthy living of citizens everywhere.

Mr Vidjah said they selected the Prisons as a beneficiary because it was one of the important institutions, which had greater needs, but attracted less attention and support from the public.

He expressed the hope that the gesture would result in the inmates and the staff being protected from sanitation related-diseases.

Mr. Victor Douchebeh, the Upper West Regional Commander of the Wa Central Prisons, thanked the Company for the gesture, and expressed the hope that it would solidify the relationship between the two organisations.

He appealed to other private organisations to emulate the gesture towards addressing the Prison’s numerous challenges.
