Zonal health volunteers select executives

Nkoranza (B/A) Jan. 24, GNA – Members of Nkoranza Zonal Community-Based Surveillance Volunteers have selected five of their executives to manage their activities so they would effectively promote the health of the people.

Mr. Rockson Opoku is the chairman, Mr. Salia Baffoe, Vice-Chairman, Mr. Kofi Adu, Secretary, Miss Francisca Acheampong, Treasurer and Mr. Yaw Sikayena, Organiser.

Mrs. Eva Saku, a public health nurse at Nkoranza health centre commended the volunteers for offering to help combat the spread of diseases in the communities.

She urged them to keep record of the outbreak of diseases in their communities and to report to the district health management team for immediate attention to save the lives of the people.

He called on them to educate the people to keep their surroundings clean so as to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

Mr. Owusu Kankam, Assistant District Disease Control Officer, expressed gratitude to the volunteers for their services in the communities and urged them to continue with their good work to promote the good health of the people.

He urged them to hold meetings with unit committees to inform them about their activities, adding that the Nkoranza team would embark on an

educational campaign to promote environmental sanitation in the communities and to control malaria cases among pregnant women and children aged between zero and five years.

Mr. Opoku expressed gratitude to the district directorate of health services for ensuring that quality health delivery services were delivered in all the health facilities in Nkoranza.

He gave assurance that the volunteers would work hard to ensure that the people lived in decent surroundings to protect themselves against diseases.
