Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated Ghana Premier League super clash against rivals Hearts of Oak, declaring his intent to defeat his counterpart Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
Speaking in the buildup to the match scheduled for Sunday, 9th November 2025, Zito reflected on his previous meetings with Dramani, acknowledging their competitive history while confidently setting his sights on victory.
“Between Hearts and Kotoko, we’ve played twice, we won one and he won the gala,” Zito said. “So this is the third one to prove to him that the timing of that gala wasn’t good for Kotoko, and I feel vindicated now. Automatically, we are going there with the mindset of beating him at the end of the day.”
The clash between Ghana’s two biggest football clubs is once again expected to capture nationwide attention, with both sides looking to assert dominance early in the league campaign.
Zito’s comments add spice to an already heated rivalry, as Kotoko aim to bounce back from a mixed start to the season, while Dramani’s Hearts will be eager to defend their home turf.
The match promises fireworks, not just on the pitch, but also in the technical area, as two of Ghana’s most respected tacticians renew acquaintances in one of African football’s most storied rivalries.
