Zanetor Rawlings has no time for dirty politics – NDC

Mr Emmanuel Ashaley Tetteh, Klottey Korle Constituency Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has condemned a news item associating the NDC’s constituency parliamentary candidate for forging people’s signatures to win the party’s approval.

Mr Tetteh said the news item has come as a surprise to him since the party has embarked on an outreach programme to iron out all the differences in the constituency ahead of the November 7 parliamentary and presidential elections.

He told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra on Monday that Dr Rawlings has no hand in the criminal activities the members of the party are accusing her of.

“We, therefore, as a party welcomes the formal complaint the aggrieved persons have lodged at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command,” he said.

Mr Tetteh said such an issue has neither been discussed before nor become a subject of concern at the constituency, and was, therefore, surprised that even if the alleged criminal activity merits any attention at all, it should have come out at the outreach programme held in Accra on Sunday, April 24.

The meeting was attended by the incumbent Member of Parliamentary for Klottey Korle, Nii Armah Ashietey, and Dr Rawlings, as well as constituency, regional and national executive members.

“I therefore suspect that the publication is part of the propaganda machinery against Dr Rawlings.

“This is not the first time people have taken Dr Rawlings to the cleaners due to their parochial interests but at God’s given time their efforts to run down the candidate will be exposed for the right thinking Ghanaians to know the political ends they want to serve.”
