ZAMSTECH Authorities Go To Appeal Court Over Rented Apartment

Bolgatanga, July 21 GNA – The Board of Directors and authorities of Zamse Secondary Technical School (ZAMSTECH) in Bolgatanga have filed a writ at the Appeal Court challenging a Bolgatanga Circuit Court ruling in a case between a former teacher of the school, Albert Naabil and the School.

Speaking to the GNA in Bolgatanga, the Headmaster of the School, Mr. Gregory Amoah, said the school acquired some Social Security and National Insurance (SSNIT) housing units in 1992 for staff of the school and that one of the units was allocated to Mr Naabil, who happened to be a staff of the school then.

Mr Amoah said when Mr Naabil left for the Bolgatanga Technical Institute, he was asked several times by the School’s authority to quit the house and make way for some of the staff of the school, who were facing accommodation problems but he refused.

The Headmaster said all attempts made by the Board of Directors of the School and the Regional Director of Education to get Mr Naabil to relinquish the house proved futile.

He said in May 2004 Mr Naabil filed a writ at the Bolgatanga Circuit Court and the Court presided over by Mr Imoro Ziblim ruled the case in favour of Mr Naabil.

“The Court ruling was unfair and unjustifiable, and that is why we have filed the appeal,” Mr Amoah said.
