Zambian’s President visit Nkrumah’s resting Place

Accra, May 12, GNA – President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa of Zambia on Thursday paid tribute to Ghana’s First President Dr Kwame Nkrumah with a visit to his graveside in Accra.

Ghana’s Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama and some officials of the two countries accompanied President Mwanawasa to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

The Zambian President was taken round the Park, the graveside and the Mausoleum.

In his tribute, President Mwanawasa said: “I am highly impressed by the rich heritage of the Former President preserved here. May His Soul Rest In Peace.” He laid a wreath at the statue of Dr Nkrumah.
