James Gunu, Akatsi-North District Chief Executive, (DCE), Thursday observed that votes of the youth swinging whichever way would decide the victory in the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Ghana.
He therefore urged the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to go out to win more people into the fold of the Party.
Mr Gunu was speaking at a formal handing over of old executives of TEIN, EP University College (EPUC) branch in Ho.
He said TEIN as the “brain-house” of the NDC must do diligent studies about population profiles to enable it undertake meaningful targeted NDC membership drives and increase support for the Party.
Mr Gunu suggested TEIN branches organized lectures, debates and symposia to put political issue into their proper perspectives and thereby expose vile propaganda against the John Mahama government.
He also stressed on the importance of TEIN chapters cultivating the media to enable them extend their reach to the people.
Mr Gunu said so many good things in terms of development were happening in the country and that it was only “those not wanting to know, who do not know”.
He said there were developments in the areas of health and education infrastructure, roads, electricity extensions to small communities and other human development efforts among others.
Mr Gunu said everything was pointing to another win for the NDC in 2016.
Ms Bless Onyehe, the new EPUC TEIN President promised to work hard to enable the NDC retain power.
She promised to bridge the gap between TEIN and Party structures and cautioned members against complacency.
