Youth urged to be morally upright

Homedakrom (E/R), April 18, GNA – The youth have been advised to avoid immorality and acts of indiscipline and channel their energies into profitable ventures.

Apostle Kadmiel Agbelenyoh, Head and Founder of the Seventh Day Church of Theocracy gave the advice at a Friday Prayer session at the church in Homedakrom near Attiakrom in the Eastern Region. About 600 members of the church from six congregations in the Southern belt of the country joined the Apostle to pray for peace in the forthcoming December 2008 general elections, among others things.

The Apostle said Ghana had witnessed a peaceful transition and that it behoved on all and sundry, to sustain the peace and gains made by the present and previous governments.

“We can maintain the peaceful atmosphere through fervent prayers to the Almighty God”, he added.

He asked for God’s guidance and direction to enable the youth to be law abiding, respectful and be gainfully employed because without decent jobs, “Satan would give them jobs to do. But such negative activities like stealing, robbery, chain smoking, early sex and riots, would rather land them in trouble”.

Apostle Agbelenyoh said: “Teenagers, young men and women who join bad company stand to lose greatly if they persist in such bad behaviour.”

He said unless the various organised groups, including counselling associations conduct intensive education among the youth, the country’s future will hang in the balance.

Apostle Agbelenyoh told the youth that the future of the country rested on them and that; “any bad seed you sow today will definitely bounce back to you with devastating results”. He noted that the development of the country was under great threat and it was necessary for the youth to grow up with a sense of discipline and hard work.
