Youth to demonstrate over alleged freeing of a suspected thief by Police

Some disgruntled youth in the Bongo District in the Upper East Region have expressed dissatisfaction over the manner in which a suspected motor thief disappeared in handcuffs under the watch of the Police while receiving medical attention at the District hospital.

The irate youth have vowed to register their displeasure by marching through the streets of Bongo to petition the District Chief Executive and the District Police Commander so they could respond and take the necessary action against the security official in question.

They’ve described the situation as a deliberate attempt by the police in the district to free the suspected culprit for personal gains.

The PRO of the United Brothers Association in Bongo,the lead group for this protest march, Michael Abembila said the group will stop at nothing until the Policeman who was involved in the scandal is dealt with and the suspected thief also re-arrested.
