Denu (V/R), Nov. 22, GNA – Mr Albert Zigah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu South, on Monday called on the youth of the area to refrain from acts that would foment violence in this year’s elections.
He said Ketu South was a strategic border area between Togo and Ghana, therefore, all political activities there should be conducted in a manner that would not disturb the peace.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after a rally at Xedzranawo, near Denu, Mr Zigah said the Constituency being the stronghold of the NDC made it more important that the people vigilantly worked towards peace. “The Youth should preach peace rather than violence,” he said adding: “It is only in a peaceful atmosphere that we can really see the victor and the vanquished.”
Mr Zigah said those beating war drums were not real democrats and that it was only through tolerance, truth and the respect of the law that democracy would thrive.
Asking the people to vote for him and Professor John Evans Atta Mills, NDC Presidential Candidate, Mr Zigah said when voted into power, he would establish an education endowment fund for the needy and brilliant children to have good education.
He said some areas in the constituency needed dredging because of the activities of the sea and pledged that the project would be among his priorities when if he got to Parliament.
