Youth group charges politicians to use decent language

Space FM,Sunyani-A newly formed non-governmental organization in Sunyani, Honesty Youth Organisation, charged political figures to re examine themselves and be mindful of their utterances because they can not take Ghanaians for granted.

The youth organisation has in that direction called on the youth to be weary of politicians who engage in negative tendencies that undermine the values of the society.

The Honesty Youth Organisation said this in statement copied to Space FM and signed by its Chief Executive Officer-Mohammed Ishau Abdul, General Secretary-Ismael Ofosu Yeboah and Director of Communications-Francis Kwabena Atta respectively.

The statement said “the youth must be circumspect and not allow themselves to be used by politicians for their selfish interest.

The statement cautioned media houses which condone and connive with politicians who propagate negative tendencies, to desist from the practice.

The youth group also called on civil society organisations, the media, and religious organisations, to sincerely condemn and advise greedy and immature politicians to refrain from insults and other indecent acts which do not enhance the attainment of a balanced society.

The Honesty Youth Organisation again called on the leadership of the various political parties to take responsibility for what their representatives say or do and take the necessary correctives measures.

The youth group stressed that politics is about contest of ideas and not insults, especially in a cultured society.
