Youth association advised to desist from politicising dev’t

Bosuso (E/R), Jan 6, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has advised youth associations to desist from politicising development issues.

He said this at the weekend at the second anniversary and annual fund raising durbar of the Bosuso Youth Association (BYA) to raise funds towards the building of a 20-million-cedi durbar grounds at Bosuso. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo enumerated his contribution to the development of Bosuso since last year and said projects he initiated include the rehabilitation of the water system at Bosuso Zongo, the construction of the Bosuso Lorry Park, the rehabilitation of street lights and ALSO promised to provide two computers to the Bosuso Library. In a speech read on his behalf, the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Gustav Narh Dometey, called for unity among the chiefs and people.

He advised the youth to acquire land to go into large-scale farming and assured them of the support of government in the provision of some agricultural inputs.

Barimah Owusu Amankwa, chief of Bosuso, assured the association of the support of the traditional authorities and appealed to them to come out in their numbers during communal labour. The chairman of the association, Mr Maxwell Narh, appealed to the youth to join the association.

He also appealed for the completion of the Bosuso SDA Primary School building which had been abandoned for the past three years, saying the JSS section had to close at mid-day as the classrooms became hot.

Mr Narh said the 7.5 million cedis that the association raised last year was used to provide streetlights for the township and the chiefs and elders of the town donated five million cedis to start the construction of the durbar ground.
