Youth asked to embrace exchange programmes

Assin Foso(C/R), Jan. 29, GNA – Mr Richard Asiedu of the National Youth Council for Assin Foso District on Friday called on youth associations to embrace exchange programmes and ideas to enhance efficient and effective co-operation of youth development.

This, Mr Asiedu said would foster unity of purpose among the youth as a basic tool to bridge ethnicity in associations.

Mr Asiedu said this, when addressing the youth at Nduaso near Assin Foso, on the need to exchange youth development programmes such as Kente weaving, Batik tie and Die and Soap making at Assin Foso. He said it was when the youth of today see themselves as one people and also work as a team to develop their unearthed talents, in spite of their political, social, and religious stands on issues in the society that the nation could develop.

Mr Asiedu was of the view that, divisions only retired social progress of any development in every society, irrespective of the patriotism among members of the community.

He said youth groups could form a formidable association to contract soft loans to establish small-scale businesses to reduce the rate of unemployed in the country. Mr Asiedu called for greater co-operation among the youth to enhance rapid development of youth activities in line with government programmes so as to benefit from it.
