Manso-Abiram (Ash), Aug 01, GNA – Mr William Asante Bediako, President of the Amansie West Youth Association, has appealed to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, to intervene in the chieftaincy disputes that have plagued the Amansie West area.
He mentioned Manso-Keniago, Abodom, Abiram and Manso-Asaman as some of the towns affected by chieftaincy disputes.
Mr Bediako said the district had lagged behind in development because of the absence of some chiefs from their communities and prolonged chieftaincy disputes in some communities. Mr Bediako who made the appeal at the inauguration of the Manso-Abiram branch of the Amansie Youth Association last Friday, also appealed to the government to complete the construction of the Manso-Mim Junction to Agroyesum, the Adubia-Keniago and the Watreso-Tontokrom roads.
Mr Bediako said the bad nature of roads in these areas had affected the carting of foodstuffs to the marketing centers. Nana Tabi-Gyansah, chief of Manso-Kwabenaso, told the youth in the district to collaborate with the opinion leaders to develop the area and urged citizens both at home and abroad to support developmental programmes.
Nana Oheneba Fosu, regent of Manso-Abiram, appealed to the people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
