Bososu(E/R), July 4, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has advised the youth who wish to excel in their performance to be disciplined and be cautious about their sexual life if they are to achieve their aspirations in life.
He warned that the “slightest careless sexual life could expose you to the HIV virus and that could disrupt your sporting career since AIDS has no known cure.”
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo was speaking at the end of a football gala organized for community football teams in and around Bososu on Friday as part of activities marking the 44th Republic Day celebration in the constituency and to educate the youth about the HIV/AIDS disease. He urged the various clubs in the communities to come together to form one strong team to compete in the third division towards gaining promotion into the higher divisions.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo explained that this would enable the area to have a club with good players who could play professional soccer as another source of ensuring employment for the youth.
He urged them to be serious with their training to enable them develop the requisite skills to play good football and assured them of his preparedness to assist any outstanding players among them to play with any senior team of their choice.
United Soccer Academy who won the gala by beating Agyeikrom Babies 2-1 on penalties in the finals, was presented with a set of jerseys and pants while Agyeikrom Babies received a football.
Spider F/C beat Great Wonders 2-1 for the third place. Each of the five participating teams was presented with a crate of minerals and a cash prizes for their participation. 04 July 04
