Young appointees pay last respects to the late President Mills

Young appointees in the late President John Evans Atta Mills’ administration, on Wednesday laid wreaths at his tomb at the Asomdwe Park in Accra.

The visit was to pay their last respects to him.

The delegation included Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Communication, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister of Information, Mr. Kwabena Acheampong , Deputy Minister of the Interior, Mr. Fiave Fiifi Kwetey, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Ms Dzifa Ativor, Deputy Minister of Roads and Transport and Dr Hannah Louisa Bissiw, Deputy Minister of Water Resources ,Works and Housing.

Others are Alhaji Inusah Fuseini , Deputy Minister of Energy, Mr. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Kofi Buah, Deputy Minister of Energy, Nii Lantey Vanderpuje, Presidential Aide, Mr. Stanilov Dogbe , Presidential Aide, Mr. Vincent Kuagbenu, Executive Director of National Service Scheme and Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a member of the NDC Communication Team.

Mr. Iddrisu, the spokesman for the group said the late President Mills had faith in Ghana especially young people to contribute their quota to national development.

He described the late President Mills as a man of dignity and selflessness who reposed a lot of confidence in them as young appointees in his government and gave them the opportunity to serve, and even as the nation mourned his death had brought unity to the country

Mr. Iddrisu said the young appointees were committed to building a memorial or a library in his honour.

Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah said the late President Mills was a great leader committed to the total development of the country and not some selected few elite.

He said late President Mills also had trust in young people and gave them the chance to serve the nation in various capacities.

Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah said the late President Mills lived for integrity and used the resources of Ghana for her development.
