You will pay if you are named after a street

Hon. Dr. Owusu Acheampong, the New Juabeng Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has stated categorically that those persons who will be named after a street in the municipality will pay for it.

“They will pay for it yearly.” Hon. Dr. Acheampong disclosed this in an exclusive interview with The Enquirer newspaper in Koforidua in the Eastern Region during the assembly’s fee fixing resolution.

He further said they have arrived at the decision due to the inability of government to release funds meant for the street naming exercise. “It is not easy to undertake the street naming exercise especially where there are no resources to do that with its attendant huge budget’, Dr. Acheampong pointed out.

He averred that though there is a committee to undertake the street naming project, they are unable to take off due to logistical constraints. “Even though there is a committee in place they are not working because of lack of logistics,’ Dr. Acheampong emphasized.

‘We are going to charge them but will cancel it if there are funds to spearhead the project,’ he said.
