Yilo Krobo District Assembly petitions for new DCE

Somanya, Nov. 14, GNA – Forty-one out of the 45 members of the Yilo Krobo District Assembly have passed a resolution calling on President John Agyekum Kufuor to appoint the Acting District Chief Executive (DCE), Sub. Lt. Christian Kofi Tettey for the assembly without delay. The resolution was passed at the Assembly’s Third Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session at Somanya, and copied to Mr. Charles Bintim, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and Mr.Yaw Barimah, Eastern Regional Minister.

The Konor of Yilo Krobo, Kpetekple Narh Dawutey Ologo the Sixth, addressing a durbar to mark the annual Klosiyikplemi festival of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area last Saturday at Somanya, also appealed to President Kufuor to end the delay in the appointment of a DCE for the district to promote accelerated development of the area. Sub. Lt. Tettey has been the DCE since 2001.
