YFC to organise Easter games for churches in Ho

Ghana Youth For Christ (YFC), of the Youth For Christ International is to organise sports and evangelism festival for churches in Ho during the Easter festivities.

Last year’s event attracted more than 1,000 young people from various churches and communities in the Municipality.

Like previous festivals this year’s event seeks to discover and develop talents in the Volta Regional capital through social interaction and cohesion among young people in churches.

It also led to the discovery of some soccer talents playing for lower division clubs and with others in soccer academies.

The festival scheduled for April 7 at the Ho Sports Stadium would focus on male and female soccer and volleyball.

Reverend Jerry Hanson Wedanu, Regional YFC Coordinator said the 2012 event promises to be great with technical support from some volunteers from abroad.

He commended Captain George Nfodjo (rtd), Member of Parliament for Ho Central for being the main sponsor of the event having provided trophies and jerseys as prizes for the competitions and called for more support from individuals and corporate institutions.**
