Yendi (NR), Dec. 23, GNA – The Yendi Mutual Health Insurance Manager, Mr. Abubakari Sadik Majeed, has filed papers to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Mion Constituency in the Yendi Municipality of Northern Region.
He presented his form and a cheque of GH¢5,000.00 to the NDC Mion Constituency Chairman, Mr Afa Abdulai Zakaria, on Thursday at Sang, Mion District capital.
Mr. Majeed told GNA that he has resigned as the Mion NDC constituency secretary to contest the primaries.
He promised to work hard for the NDC to retain the Mion seat in Election 2012 if elected to contest the elections.
Mr. Majeed said he is the only candidate who would be able to defeat the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate in the 2012 elections because he has 90 percent support of people in the constituency.
Mr Zakaria said advised NDC supporters to support any party member who win the primary to enable the party to retain the seat.
