YEA staff distance themselves from Samson’s suit; petition General Legal Council

Some staff of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have petitioned the General Legal Council against lawyer Samson Lardy Anyenini for citing them in a suit against the agency without their consent.

The lawyer, on behalf of some staff of the agency, secured a court injunction on July 5 to stop the Youth Employment Agency from going ahead with its mass transfer and decision to reduce the ranks of some staff.

But some of the plaintiffs in Samson Anyenini’s long list of disgruntled staff claimed they did not consent to the suit and are surprised the lawyer would add their name as a party to the suit.

The staff led by Robert Lartey and Vincent Anas Asitibasi have officially petitioned the General Legal Council against the conduct of the lawyer, 3news.com has gathered.

“Lawyer Samson Lardy Anyenini used my name to issue a writ without recourse to my consent and to secure a court injunction against my employer, the Youth Employment Agency,” Mr Asitibasi complained.

Sources within the YEA suggest that about 150 staff listed as plaintiffs to the suit have officially written to the Agency to disassociate themselves and have denied any knowledge of the court action as they threaten to sue the lawyer.
