YDF supports youth development projects

Kumasi, Sept 9, GNA- The Youth Development Foundation (YDF) in collaboration with Defence For Children International (DCI),b an NGO, had between January to August this year, spent 350 million cedis on youth training programmes and legal representation of children in courts.

Mr Prince Ohene-Koranteng, Public Relations Consultant and communications Director of YDF/DCI, who announced this in Kumasi on Monday, explained that YDF has also trained 200 unemployed youth to acquire employable skills as part of its contribution towards the fight against unemployment.

He said many micro-financial institutions in the country have also benefited from the organisation’s seminars and workshops aimed at ensuring that those institutions upgraded their knowledge in management.

Mr Ohene-Koranteng said the YDF as a youth organisation was not only committed to the educational programmes for institutions but it was also committed to the total welfare, healthy growth and development of Ghanaians.

He said, “we have over the years served and trained HIV/AIDS patients in various programmes by counselling and offering financial support to them”.

He said the DCI is child-friendly for the promotion and protection of children’s rights including juvenile justice.
