Yamoransa outdoors Nkosuohene

Yamoransa (C/R), Feb. 24. GNA – Yamoransa, near Cape Coast, a town noted for production of Fante Kenkey is leading in child-neglect cases being handled by Women and Juvenile (WAJU) court at Cape Coast. Mr Raphael Amoah, Assemblyman for the town who disclosed this said his office was flooded with letters from WAJU for distribution to parents, mostly fathers who have been summoned for neglect of their children.

Speaking at the outdooring of Kevin Ewudzie a 50-year-old employee of the United Nations at Germany as the Nkosuohene (Development Chief) under the stool name Nana Kofi Enyin I.

Mr Amoah reminded the people that development they were yearning for would elude them if they did not pay attention to education of their children.

He urged them to sacrifice the comfort of today for a better future.

Miss Dora Otema-Ayesu, a Ghanaian social worker resident in Hambourg, Germany partly blamed our under development on misuse of monies remitted by citizens residing outside for development projects in their communities.

Miss Otema-Akyesu said Ghanaians residing outside felt skeptical of sending money home for the fear of it being misapplied by friends, family members and community leaders.

She advised women to form co-operatives to enable them to get financial help to promote their businesses.

Nana Akwa II, chief of Yamoransa Kojokrom exhorted the people to cooperate with the chiefs in planning and execution of projects. He urged them to do away with the “do it and let us see” syndrome and added that sitting on the fence was the greatest enemy to development.

Nana Kofi Enyin expressed gratitude to the people for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that he would do his best to improve their standard of living and called for co-operation of the citizenry.
