Wrong dates on EC’s Voter’s ID cards

The first day (today) of the ongoing voter registration exercise has been characterized by controversy as some registration machines have generated wrong dates on the ID cards.

Some of the cards have Wednesday’s date, 27th April, 2016 instead of Thursday’s date, 28th April, 2016, which is the starting date for the registration.

The incident was recorded Ablekuma West, Ayawaso Central in the Greater Accra Region and also the Boko polling station Antwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region.

Officials of EC have explained to Kasapa News that the mistake is as a result of the weakening of the batteries of the machine which results in the cards been backdated.

Kasapa News, Benjamin Amuzu reported that such cards generated in the Ablekuma West constituency were replaced with the right cards.
