Wrangling over the Kumawu Paramount Stool is continuing as a group of citizens’ question the legitimacy of the Omanhene, Barima Tweneboa Kodua.
It has asked that the National House of Chiefs (NHC) provide them with a certified copy of the “Chieftaincy Declaration Forms” filled out by him to provide proof of that has been gazetted.
They insisted that the forms were a public record and that there should not be any difficulty making it available on demand.
The group calling itself “Subjects Living Home and Abroad (KSLHA), said it found it completely unacceptable the lack of transparency in the election and installation of a successor to the late Omanhene, Barima Asumadu Sakyi II.
Mr. David Asumadu, the Spokesperson, addressing a press conference in Kumawu said that had led to a situation, where there was now two rival chiefs in the town.
He said they were eager to see the chieftaincy dispute resolved to bring development to the people.
He indicated that the progress of the traditional had suffered for far too long because of the protected chieftaincy dispute and that this could not be allowed to continue.
Mr Asumadu said Kumawuman had failed their celebrated chief Tweneboa Kodua, adding that, all his hard work and sacrifices had gone into complete waste.
Kumawu, he noted, had been in the news for all the wrong reasons in recent years and they wanted a new page to be opened.
He said the group was not aligned to any of the factions to the dispute and did not recognize either of the rival chiefs.
All they wanted to see was a swift end to the dispute to help restore peace and development to the area and warned that the people would demand accountability from anybody, who had tampered with funds and resources of the Stool.
