Woyome Heads To Court…

The criminal case involving businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome will resume on Tuesday morning at the Financial Division of the Accra Fast Track High Court in Accra.

The state wants to retrieve an amount of 51 million Ghana cedis said to have been wrongfully paid him as judgment debt.

At the last hearing, Chief State Attorney, Matthew Amponsah, announced that the state could not present a witness to testify, thus the adjournment.

Mr. Woyome is facing two counts of defrauding by false pretences and causing financial loss to the state.

So far, three prosecution witnesses have testified in the case including the Deputy Head of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Mrs. Mangowa Ghanney; a former Minister of Finance, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, and a former Deputy Minister of Finance, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu.
