Woyome has no reputation to be dented – OccupyGhana

Claims by embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who is at the centre of a GHS 51.2m judgment debt saga, that pressure group OccupyGhana is trying to dent his reputation is laughable, Ace Ankomah, a member of the group, has said.

According to Mr Ankomah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) financier has no reputation in the first place to talk of it being sullied.

OccupyGhana on Friday November 25 said in a statement that the government of Ghana had awarded a new contract to Mr Woyome in December 2015 even though he has still not refunded the GHS51million judgment debt illegally paid him, which the Supreme Court has ordered him to refund to the state.

OccupyGhana said it was “shocked, outraged and appalled to discover this: That while the nation is still reeling from the effect of the Alfred Woyome judgment debt scandal, and the stalled and hesitant attempts by the Attorney-General to execute the judgment of the Supreme Court, the Government of Ghana has, on the blind side of Ghanaians, entered into a ‘confidential’ and potentially lucrative agreement with Woyome, acting through one of his companies, Anator Holding Company Limited.”

But Mr Woyome, denying that he has been given a new contract by the government, said Occupy Ghana was only interested in destroying his hard-earned reputation. He further indicated that Mr Ankomah had a personal score to settle with, hence his relentless attacks on his reputation.

Responding to this claim in an interview with Emefa Apawu on Class91.3FM’s 505 programme on Friday, Mr Ankomah said: “Woyome has no reputation to be dented.”

He added: “This is a man who has our GH51.2 million he did not deserve but is not paying.”
