World Vision donates to two institutions

Dodowa, July 20, GNA – World Vision Ghana on Wednesday donated assorted medical equipment worth 180,000 dollars to two institutions under its Area Development Programme. The Ghana Health Service received 44 medical examination tables valued at 100,000 dollars, while the Christian Medical Resource Foundation (CMRF) was provided with medical supplies at 80,000 dollars at a ceremony at Dodowain in the Dangme West District of the Greater Accra Region.

The medical supplies included pharmaceuticals, surgical kits, laboratory items, blood filters, suction catheter kits, heated and humidified respiratory breathing circuits. Presenting the items, Dr Sam Asare, National Director of World Vision, said the donation was under the organisation’s “Gift In Kind Programme” that sought to give the poor relief and rehabilitation and to support HIV/AIDS care.

The Vision’s partners abroad donated the items. Dr Asare said: “Our activities are to complement the development efforts of the government.”

He urged the beneficiary institutions to use the resources to improve the quality of the lives of the people. Receiving the items on behalf of CMRF, Pastor Lewis Fiadjoe, Missions Director, said the items would be used to support the needy during the foundation’s free medical services in the Northern part of the country. 20 July 05
