World Bank Group mourns with Ghanaians

The World Bank Group, through its Ghana Country Office, has expressed deepest sorrow of the passing away of President John Evans Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana.

President Atta Mills’s death occurred at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra on Tuesday afternoon while receiving medical attention after being taken ill a few hours earlier.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr. Jim Yong Kim, President of the Group, said Ghana and indeed Africa has lost a great, humble and trusted leader.

It expressed the Group’s heartfelt condolence to the Government and people of Ghana, particularly Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills, wife of the late President and the entire family.**
