Workshop on NHIS held at Winneba

Winneba, April 27, GNA – The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme has organized a day’s workshop for 40 registration officers from 17 communities in Winneba who would undertake the registration and collection of premiums.

Participants were taken through filling of registration forms and the issuance of receipts to registered members.

Addressing participants the chairman of the Board, Dr Philip Tagoe, said all the necessary arrangements were being put in place for the programme to take off.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Kennedy Ofosuhene, Public Relation Officer of the scheme, said a team had been dispatched to Senya Beraku, Bawjiase, Jeikrodua, Awutu Bontrase, Kasoa to train people to do the registration and collection of premium. He said Social Security and National Insurance Trust contributors are not to pay but non-SSNIT contributors are to pay 72,000.00 cedis.
