Workshop on HIV/AIDS ends at Nkawie

Nkawie (Ash), May 25, GNA-A two-day youth workshop on HIV/AIDS for 65 participants has ended at Nkawie in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district. It was organised under the auspices of the Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church with sponsorship from the Ghana AIDS Response Fund and attended by youth drawn from Old Tafo, Nkawie, Nyinahin and Bibiani.

Pastor Felix Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, Executive Secretary of the Central Ghana Conference of the SDA, called on Ghanaians to show compassion for persons infected with HIV/AIDS.

He said this would encourage them to publicly declare their HIV/AIDS status to facilitate the fight against the disease. Pastor Adu-Gyamfi also urged Ghanaians, especially would be couples to go through voluntary counselling and to test for HIV/AIDS to enable them know their health status. 25 May 05
