Workers urged to accept criticism

Apam (C/R), Feb. 11, GNA – The Gomoa District Director of Ghana Health Service, Ms Diana Hall-Baidoo, has called on Ghanaian workers, especially those in management positions to accept criticism to enable them make amendments.

Ms Hall-Baidoo said “since we are fallible beings, the only way we can know of whether we are on track or not is to put our ears on the ground to listen to what others say about us”.

Rather, she said we regard those who criticise us as enemies. Ms Hall-Baidoo gave the advice at end-off-year get-together organise by the directorate at Apam for health workers.

She commended the workers for a good performance last year but cautioned them against complacency since there was a challenging time ahead of them especially when Ghana Health Insurance Scheme took off. The District Director exhorted health workers to make God their guardian in their endeavours.

68 workers were honoured. Mr John Buabeng, dispensary assistant and Miss Patience Awer, a nurse were adjudged best workers of Apam Catholic Hospital while Mr Edmund Osei-Kwakye, district disease control officer, Miss Alberta Kuoffie, staff midwife, Mr Francis Baako Boafo, driver, Mr Rockson Agyei, stoke-keeper, Miss Irene Laryea and M Charles Nkrumah, orderlies were adjudged the best health workers of the district. The district health committee members were also awarded for their dedication.
