Worker for good of Ghana – Mabengba tells Civil Servants

Wa, May 19, GNA – Mr. Moses Bukari Mabengba, Northern Regional Minister, has challenged civil servants to work for the good of the country and the government and stay away from politics.

“A good number of civil servants have now become politicians and if we do not change but continue to do what we are doing, I am afraid in 10 years time, the system will collapse completely”, Mr. Mabengba, who has temporal responsibility for the Upper West Region, observed. Mr. Mabengba was addressing heads of departments in Wa to introduce himself to them and to solicit their cooperation to enable him to administer the region effectively.

He urged heads of departments and workers to play their roles appropriately without fear or favour.

“I am not here to circumvent the wheel of operating reporting channels”, he warned, and urged the heads of departments to continue to report to the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).

Mr. Mabengba also warned heads of departments and other workers not take advantage of the absence of a substantive Regional Minister to be attending to their private matters to the neglect of government business. The acting Regional Minister urged the heads of departments to assist government to maintain peace in the communities for development. Some of the heads appealed to government to make resources available to departments, services and agencies within the civil and public services to make them operate effectively and efficiently.
