Work starts on 3 billion cedis Jubilee Mothers Hostel project

Cape Coast, Feb. 11, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor has performed the ceremony for construction work to start on a 3-billion-cedi Jubilee Mothers’ Hostel for the Cape Coast Regional Hospital.

The 200-bed hostel is meant to provide decent accommodation for mothers of sick children on admission.

It is being implemented with funds raised by the Central Regional Ghana @ 50 Committee.

President Kufuor said the successful completion of the project would ensure that mothers enjoyed some comfort as they attended to their sick children.

He also inspected the 4-billion cedi Cape Coast Victoria Park face-lift.

The works being done include erection of a Presidential dais, media and spectators stands and the upgrading of the floor with pavement blocks.

President Kufuor directed the contractors to make sure that the project was completed within three weeks. “We want to see the place ready for the 50th Independence Anniversary celebration.”

He also directed the Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, to keep a close eye on the project and to see to it that the contractors did not only worked around the clock but delivered quality job.
